Named relationship

An object relationship where the relationship is described by one or more attributes and its values.
For relationship created between objects, it is necessary to identify the type of relationship.
  • When objects of the same kind are related, a default relationship type may apply over the complete relationship continuum, i.e. physical items related in parent-child relationships through multilevel may be termed as a Bill-of-Material relationship.
  • When specific relationships are applicable between dissimilar objects, the relationship may be described by singular or multiple attributes for indexing and control purposes, i.e. a named relationship, i.e. a person object related as author to a document object.
